Steve Kroft

Steve Kroft, who has been a correspondent on CBS-TV's "60 Minutes" since 1989, will be the Keynote Speaker at the Leadership Conference's Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday morning, August 8. Kroft, 66, served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a correspondent and photographer for Pacific Stars and Stripes after graduating from Syracuse University in 1967. He went on to receive a master's degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism.

Steve Kroft has received many honors for his journalism work  on "60 Minutes" and as a CBS News correspondent before that. They include four Peabody Awards, the George Polk Award,  eleven Emmy awards, and the George Arents Medal, the highest honor Syracuse University gives to an alumnus.  Following his Keynote Speech, VVA will present Steve Kroft with the Vietnam Veterans of America Award for Excellence in Journalism.
